#85 of 365 – “yesterday’s tomorrow”

“yesterday’s tomorrow”

I am too dark

it seems,

too prone

to the shadows

I act frightened

by clouds

and bright colors

and meadows

I need help,

need my shaded

ground broken

and harrowed

need the light

to burrow down

into my soul

and bone marrow

need the loud

muddy voices

hushed to a thread

of past sorrow

and today

to be the realized

promise of yesterday’s

tomorrow
