3 Haiku about Puberty
we conquered trees, and
I was one of the boys, ‘till
he wanted a kiss
extra tight vest, pressed
against the puberty of
an angry tomboy
he won’t change for GYM
ashamed of what might happen
he tries not to look

Merle, another “Power Home Run!” Excellent trio and a subject boh compelling and fresh. Never saw haiku on the subject of PTSD before, but you nailed it!
I don’t know if any or all of the haiku have an autobiographical component but that would be an interesting thing to know…if you care to share. If not, we’re friends,,,I can take it if you simply say, “Druther not say!” *grin*
HAPPY NEW YEAR, MERLE — to you and your loved ones!
Ron
Ron, thank you so much! It is extremely gratifying to hear such a compliment from an “old haiku poet” I have a great deal of respect for and consider a much valued new friend. The first 2 haiku about puberty are indeed autobiographical…and the PTSD…well…there is some experience there. It’s not a very pleasant poem, but #41 of 365 – “descent” will give you an idea of which PTSD haiku is closest to my experience.
Anyway…I’m grateful to call you a friend…and HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and yours!!!
