#101 of 365 – “steel”

coins and wishes

dollars and gifts

plans that can’t

be made

work and hunger

sweat and distress

no merriment

in the shade

the sun is old

the shine is dull

the rain is sharp

like steel

and I can’t make

my eyes forget

the failure

they try to conceal
