#105 of 365 – “reflections”

I want to unravel

the unforgiving threads

from this old

raggedy robe

wash the angry shadows

off of me

that rust

and corrode

I want to clear

my mind of reflections

of yesterday’s

climb the crumbling

walls my past

have built

I want to find the child

from years ago

still stranded

and adrift

and reassure her

that surviving

to her future

is a gift

These painfully personal reflections are, I know, a part of the healing process and poignant beyond my poor words. And such a beautiful tapestry you have woven from the “old raggedy robe!” What a delight!

Thanks Ron! I actually started this poem while wearing my “old raggedy robe” I’ve had for probably 20 years or so…reeeaally need a new robe. 🙂
