#136 of 365 – “proffer”

it was a quiet day of wondering

what I have to offer

of questioning the worth

of contributions I proffer

I have to do things

that make me feel good

to counteract the things

I don’t do that I should

I need more than I give

and want more than I get

and I spend time bemoaning

the things I regret

I long for balance between what I like

and the parts of me that I detest

and I am praying for

a way to love myself to manifest

I’m sure you are aware that these feelings are common to nearly everyone at one time or another. Remember — “You can’t keep the blackbird (!) from flying over your head, but you can keep it from building a nest in your head.” *g* Surely this homespun wisdom helps……..at least a little bit! :>)

Random Comments: (1) Reflection is good. (2) Questioning is questionable. *g*
    (3) Avoid the “shoulda – woulda – coulda” triumvirate (4) Need is simply greed justified.
    (5) Never regret. If the behavior is wrong, change it. But never, never regret. You’ll regret it, if you do! (6) Balance is a myth. Everyone talks about it, a few try for it and give up, No one — no one — achieves it. (7) Detesting is just a way to say “hating” in nicer words (8) Self-hatred is the archway to self-love (Hope these help, but the last one is bs!)

Ni, ni, Merle. Hope you sleep well.

Always appreciate your comments and wisdom. Will try to let go of my regret, so I don’t have to regret regretting… Thanks Ron!
