#137 of 365 – “reverie”

I’m a habitual defeatist

attempting to learn something new

trying to crack open my darkness

for the light to imbue

an ardent yearning for the day

like it’s a gift to unseal

a happy reverie for the future

I’ve been unable to feel

and a deep, unruly laughter

that squashes my disbelief

that change can seep into my bones

and push out all my grief

until the past is nothing more

than a dear and distant friend

who brought me here and taught me lessons

I am eager to comprehend

I don’t know what to say — this poem is like the gift of your friendship transformed into words that have the power to rejuvenate my soul. This day I will rejoice in the knowledge that the pure soul of you has allowed me to hear the laughter again…and to see and touch the inner spaces of your heart.

    Warmest Always,

Once again, my friend, your beautiful comments leave me speechless. Thank you so much, Ron! Saw your comment earlier from my phone(which I can’t respond from-teensy tiny keyboard makes me nuts!) – but your comment brightened my entire day!

One thing you know about me by now is that I don’t know how to respond to a compliment. At my age, I should, but I don’t. *shrug* So I’ll just say, “Shucks, ma’am, t’warnt nuthin.”
Maybe that’ll do it until I can find my dam*ed thesaurus!” *g*
