#143 of 365 – “getaway”

I am counting up the gifts

I was presented with today

dipping toes inside the light, quick

while my darkness looks away

I’m sneaking glimpses, reaching out

to touch a velvet gratitude

and holding close, just for a moment,

love’s divine infinitude

I don’t know if like a dream

this will vanish with tomorrow

but tonight I’ve made my getaway

from yesterday’s sorrow

Classic Merle — shining a light in the dark places where despair hides and walking forward one day at a time in faith and hope. Keep writing, Merle. We NEED your message!

Thanks Ron! Your encouraging words mean so much. I’m looking to catch up on my reading tomorrow. I always look forward to hearing from you as well as reading your work. Shut-eye time…
