#174 of 365 – 3 Haiku about dreaming

3 Haiku about dreaming

I miss the flying
dreams that came whenever I
needed to escape

a secret tunnel
just big enough for me to
end up somewhere else

she grinds her teeth like
she’s determined to find a
way out of her dream

Ooooh! I like these very much. Yes, I had “flying dreams” for many years, lasting until I was in my 50’s. Mine were “success dreams” (I had horrible “failure dreams” as well) in which I simply willed myself to levitate off the ground to the amazement of everyone around. I’d really forgotten these dreams, and yours will vanish with the dew someday. But your poetry will not.

I took the liberty of putting my own touch to your first haiku, mostly to put it in the present tense and shorten lines 1 and 3…just becuz! *g*

    flying dreams
    they come…and lift me…with them
    when they go
