#181 of 365 – “teeth marks”

“teeth marks”

hungry darkness

tried to feed

on my desperation

last night,

cornered me

inside

the timelessness

before

sleep,

and when I

woke

I had teeth marks

all over

my soul,

covered

and protected

by some

great nameless

nurse

with an endless

supply

of  bandages

Very intriguing! I like the non-rhymed structure…not for every poem, of course, but it seems right for this poem. I especially liked “the timelessness before sleep” and “teeth marks all over my soul.” Fresh and unique phrasing. Nice work! And a lot to think about for the reader. — Ron —

Thanks Ron! Gotta let go of the rhymes every so often…funny though…I almost snuck a quick little rhyme in there…but it felt better ended as it does. Glad you liked it…thanks!
