#194 of 365 – “fault lines”

“fault lines”

I tread fault lines between the breaths of poise

and the littered squalls of despair

try to balance on the levee of deeds

between austerity and prayer

there are no borders I can guard

between the caverns and the hymns

no edges I can trace between my hollows

and new paths to begin

are there boundaries God has put in place

between His ether and mine?

are there stairs that find

where barren dreams and water intertwine?

and is there a limitless moment

when broken destiny and stars finally align?

As usual, I’m blown away by the beauty in your use of language–absolutely fabulous: “littered squalls”, “between caverns and hymns”, “stairs…barren dreams…water”, and “limitless moment” is probably my fave, but “broken destiny”….gosh, it’s impossible to find one imperfect or wasted word.

Oh, Hon…this one is magnificent! Starralee has said it all in her comments, but I WILL say this — “You knocked this one outta the park, across the parking lot, and into the river across town!” (If there IS a river across town!)

Thanks Ron! I’d kinda like to have that ball…never knocked one outta the park like that before. I appreciate you’re wonderful compliment…thanks!

The compliment was sincere and well-deserved! As for the ball, it’s yours if you can find it…it was just a pretend ball anyway! *wink*
