#230 of 365 – “iron”

“iron”

the mood is sudden

tension scalds a rigid path

across the night

air changes

stiffens

with a breath

in the wrong direction

I make decisions

mistakes

that seem careless

and inconsiderate

and then

the gentle

sloping curves

we make

of laughter

and conversation

flatten

beneath the

iron weight

and tyranny

of silence

Now…THIS is poetry!! Do it again…do it again!! “the iron weight and tyranny of silence” is worth the price of admission in ANYONE’S ballpark. Just exquisite, Merle!

Thanks Ron!…this is the only good thing to come out of such a mood. Your compliment and encouragement are indeed a little bit of music to break up the silence.
