#237 of 365 – “fruit”

I peel the skin off of the hours

searching for fruit

and to find the source of discontent

and remove it by its root

I’ve grown weary

of the bitter taste of darkness in my mouth

and the sour smell of yesterday

I’ve spread throughout my house

today is listening

for the light of new ideas to grace her stay

and eager to provide me

with new dreams and prayers to pray
