#259 of 365 – 5 Haiku

5 Haiku

vast differences

cultures worlds apart; smashed in

on the crosstown bus

smells of the city

exhaust, food, asphalt, perfume

something dead somewhere

bench of old men with

so little in common, save

the passage of time

city food; vegans

vegetarians, across

from drinks, steaks and chops

time whittles people’s

differences down till we’re

all just fighting death
