#279 of 365 – “fervor and lightning”

 “fervor and lightning”

disheartened

we lash out

till someone

is dead

till the streets

are broken

and the walls

are red

we don’t listen

don’t hear

don’t feel

a connection

run

full of death

and raging

insurrection

such fervor

and lightning

that measures

our cause

as we thunder

and reign

down our stones

without pause

what a chasm

of shattered

belonging

we roam

in our desperate

scrapings

to dig out

a home
