#355 of 365 – 3 Haiku

3 Haiku

so enchanting is

the return from loneliness

the curve of her back

somewhere in the vast

timbre of infinity

the voice of Ray Charles

chills even today

electric pride; the splendor

of Whitney’s anthem

I don’t usually post anything but poetry, but for those who haven’t seen this…it’s worth seeing; and for those who have, it’s worth seeing again.

It’s all beautiful!! “the timbre of infinity” !!!! — the haiku for Whitney Houston, the YouTube video of her singing the National Anthem…all of it! Blows me away! And sooo wild that my comment would include a ref to the National Anthem before i ever read your post. But it’s true that the National Anthem used to be played just before the station shutdown and went to “snow.”

Oh, how long that’s been. For me…about 65 years.

Oh…I remember! They also used to recite “High Flight” by John Gillespie Magee over a background of a jet flying through the clouds….loved it!…but alas, no more. TV never goes off.
