#356 of 365 – “make of my bones”

“make of my bones”

I feel my future

bearing down on her knees

praying I don’t leave her

adrift on the seas

waves of eager doubt

crash into me like stones

stripping the resolve

from the make of my bones

I push my tiny raft

of faith through waters near

hope depression’s undercurrents

don’t become too severe

and listen for the siren

calling me to persevere
