#357 of 365 – 5 Haiku

5 Haiku

mouth drops, dumbfounded

four buses, one direction

none going my way

birds, frogs and crickets

movie quotes and pop music

phones used to just ring

our girl, thirteen; time

sucks! my wife said―put that in

a Goddamned haiku!

her mom shows up on

trails her grieving eyes wander

into the past on

secrets hidden and

kept by the young―treasures found

and shared by the old

So! Number 3 is showing TD you can do it! Right?! Such a clever concept! The last one is pure wisdom. The rest are clever, social commentary of a high order, and deep, rich pathos in order of appearance. Lovely work! ❤
