#362 of 365 – 5 Haiku

5 Haiku

steel clouds, so heavy

with the weight of yesterday’s

dreams―yet to come true

clouds, pregnant and low

dark sky choking back the rain

tears behind my eyes

God smothered under

the misery of silence

when prayer goes still

warm, sublime; where I

want to be when life hurts; the

smell of her baking

raw cold and shaking

spirit, sweating and confused

craving some belief

Mixed bag — Good, Better, Goodest! But I love them all, with the fourth being my favorite. The warmth and the baking angle appeared in one of my haiku weeks and weeks ago but I never get enough! (The third one needs a little help. Either “prayer goes…” or “prayers go…” but not “prayers goes,” Thus sayeth the grammar guru of all the earth!) :p ❤
